The Moondance EX is the largest tent in the Mont lightweight range. At only 2280g it is impressively light for its generous dimensions and is ideal for those looking for a roomy 2 person or comfortable 3 person tent.

Mont Moondance Tents feature a lightweight 25,000mm+ WaterBloc™ PU laminated Nylon floor. 25,000mm+ waterhead: that is more than twice the waterhead of any other tent on the market (and ten to twenty times the waterhead of some of them!).

The new Mont Moondance EX tent comes with the following improvements.

  • New stronger 20 denier inner canopy Nylon from previously used 15 denier
  • Improved and enlarged inner doors allow easier access
  • New internal pockets are larger and stronger: two extra-large full-width pockets, two large half-width pockets
  • New 20 denier rainfly fabric, compared to previously used 30 denier rainfly, is lighter weight but with the same tear strength thanks to increased threadcount and improved PU coating treatment
  • Now includes 10x DAC J-Stakes compared to previous models with 8 pegs

The Moondance EX easily fits three standard size sleeping mats and with a high ceiling and steep side walls is very spacious inside. Dual doors allow you to climb in and out without disturbing your camping partners and the dual vestibules provide ample space for backpacks, boots and more.

Mont Tents are sold fully seam-sealed, waterproof and ready for rain straight out of the box. There is no need to seam seal your new Mont tent.

This Mont Tent has a 25,000mm waterhead Nylon floor for superior protection in wet weather. Many competitor tents have only a 5000mm waterhead and some as low as 1200mm! With waterhead ratings as low as these, the pressure of you sitting in your tent can cause water to soak through from the wet ground!

Most tents on the market use Poly-Urethane (PU) coating to waterproof their tent floors. This Mont tent uses Thermoplastic-Poly-Urethane (TPU) Lamination which is a far superior form of waterproofing. TPU is more durable, more resistant to chemical damage (sunscreen, oils, insect repellent etc), and is almost impervious to hydrolysis. Hydrolysis results in a permanent and irreparable de-lamination between the PU and the Nylon fabric; the floor is no longer waterproof. Laminated TPU floors are lighter, more waterproof and more durable than Coated PU floors.

Vents in a tent fly are very important to minimise condensation and to regulate air flow and temperature. Access to these vents from inside the tent is just as important particularly in poor weather; having to climb out of the tent in heavy rain to open or close the vents is not fun!

All Mont tents have vents in the fly that can be accessed from inside the tent. Mont tents with full-Nylon interiors also have large window vents in the doors for greater ventilation.

Mont Moondance Tents use extremely strong and very lightweight 2-piece DAC Featherlite NSL pole systems. This pole system is incredibly easy to use and all Moondance tents can be set up easily and quickly even if you’re on your own. DAC Featherlite NSL poles are selected for their exceptionally low weight, precision engineering, high strength and for DAC’s market-leading environmental standards.

SEAM SEALED, WATERPROOF & READY FOR RAIN

All Mont tents are sold tape-seam-sealed, waterproof and ready for rain. A clear polyurethane seam sealing tape is applied using a specialist machine at an exact speed, pressure and temperature. Mont seam sealing is lightweight, durable and totally waterproof. Seam sealing is essential to make a tent waterproof.
